I bought my 10" Orion Skyquest XT10g GoTo Dobsonian with tracking in June of 2014. Soon after, I bought a Lunt LS60THa Hyrdogen Alpha solar telescope with pressure tuning. Since then, I have had both out as much as possible for both observing and astrophotography. After taking some decent shots with my smartphone and my point-and-shoot, I bought a DSLR camera and dove head first into both deep space and "lucky" planetary imaging, with much help from society member Jeff G. The GoTo and tracking on the Dob have really come in handy for DSO and planetary imaging! I also own a Celestron Advanced VX equatorial mount, which I have taken several piggy-back shots on with my DSLR.
I joined the DAS in 2014, soon after acquiring my first scope. I look forward to learning more about the hobby, and to helping to inspire the next generation to take a life-long interest in astronomy and other aspects of science!
